Osma generacija Intel Core i9, i7 i i5 procesora za prijenosna računala temelje se na Coffe Lake platformi i koriste 14 nm ++ procesnu tehnologiju koja im omogućuje isporuku do 41 posto više framova u sekundi prilikom igranja ili uređivanje 4K video sadržaja do 59 posto brže od prethodne generacije s istom ugrađenom diskretnom grafikom. Intel Core i9-8950HK optimiziran je za pomicanje performansnih granica na novi nivo.
To je prvi Intelov procesor sa šest jezgri i 12 threadova. Dolazi u potpunosti otključan te posjeduje novu tehnologiju Intel Thermal Velocity Boost (TVB) koji oportunistički i automatski povećava frekvenciju rada do 200 MHz ukoliko je temperatura procesora dovoljno niska.

Intel Optane memorija: sada i s 8 generacijom Intel Core mobilnim i stolnim platformama
Intel Optane memorija je pametan i prilagodljiv akcelerator sustava za stolne i prijenosne platforme, koji povećava performanse, brzinu i odaziv SATA tehnologije pohrane bez ugrožavanja samog kapaciteta pohrane. Sada je Intel Optane memorija dostupna i kod mobilnih i stolnih platformi preko 8 generacije Intel Core procesora. The Intel® Thermal Velocity Boost feature is supported on Intel® Core™ i9-8950HK and Intel® Xeon® Processor E-2186M and is designed to increase performance of both multi-threaded and single-threaded workloads. The maximum Core Frequency is achieved while the processor is at a temperature of 50°C or lower and turbo power budget is available.
